Welcome
Set within the historic medieval market town of Hatherleigh, amid the rolling North Devon countryside, Hatherleigh Holidays are pleased to present two delightful self-catering period holiday cottages, alongside luxury bed and breakfast accommodation. The cottages enjoy a quiet setting on the Tarka Trail and National Cycle Network Route 27 (NCN Route 27) at the top of the pretty market town. Hatherleigh offers a host of amenities and with its weekly antique and bric-a-brac auctions, farmers market and livestock auctions it offers the visitor a glimpse of rural country life as well as being an ideal base from which to explore Devon and Cornwall.
Two country inns with restaurants, The Tally Ho! and The Bridge, are within walking distance of the cottages. Other local amenities include Cornucopia which is a delightful deli and cafe, a local supermarket, weekly farmers market, Pete the Baker, a local butcher, paper shop, Post Office, pottery, art gallery, gift shop, bistro and tea rooms.
A fifteen minute drive takes you to the town of Okehampton, which offers a further choice of public houses, a variety of gift and antique shops, supermarkets and a small licensed cinema with sofas! Dartmoor, which can be seen from the gardens of the cottages, is a fifteen minute drive away. The North Devon coast is only 20 miles away. Bude is just 20 miles from Hatherleigh offering a beach pool and surfing and many pleasant walks along the coast. The cottages are the ideal location for walkers, cyclists, beach holidays and surfing.
Hatherleigh offers easy access to Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor and Exmoor, as well as the many attractions that Devon has to offer. We are close to the Cornish border, enabling you to easily visit such places as Boscastle, Tintagel, Rock and Padstow, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. There are indeed many delightful National Trust and English Heritage houses, gardens and castles to visit in both Devon and Cornwall. Shooting, fishing, archery and golf are all available locally. Neighbouring villages and towns offer a host of shopping and dining options, including some notable gastro-pubs, historic inns and art galleries. Plenty of information is to hand in the cottages and we are always pleased to offer help and recommendations to make your visit memorable.
